Me, at a glance
¡Hola! I’m Joanna, originally from Barranquilla, Colombia but I’ve been traveling and working around the world for the past 14 years.
I design strategies and develop concepts to position hospitality projects. Through tools like storytelling, programming/experience design, and artistic residencies, I design processes, build communities, and put in place a method with a holistic perspective to achieve desired goals.

What I Do
-
From MC’ing an entire event to guiding panels, workshops, retreats, and conversations, I facilitate groups leading them to the desired results of the objective of their gathering. This is what I enjoy the most.
-
I work together with you to create unique propositions to make your space stand out and become a lifestyle destination, identifying the most suitable strategy for your goals.
-
Belonging is an existential human need. I assist you in identifying the community you want to build and the strategy to bring it together, as well as developing strong relationships with the local community your space is at. Weaving these communities creates strong lasting relationships for customers and stakeholders.
-
After designing the spaces, and amenities, you need the soul. What makes a place shine? stand out from the rest? lure in the right people? This is what we discover together for your project.
There are four main aspects that define my professional and lifestyle identities:
In hospitality, I focus on Strategic Planning & Programming Design. I’ve designed a myriad of concepts from the launch of new spaces, retreats, events, immersive experiences, brand product presentations, dinner parties, etc., and also I design annual and seasonal strategies. Using tools like programming design, strategic partnerships, experience design, talent scouting, and curation, my job primarily seeks to bring people together, weave strong communities and create a sense of belonging.
In wellness, I’m a certified Breathwork instructor through YogaLap Life Awareness Program. I’m also a dedicated practitioner of the Plum Village tradition and Thich Nhat Hanh’s teachings, having received the 5 Mindfulness training. I lead group meditations, breathwork practices, and mindfulness sessions.
In culture, I’m an advocate for the advancement of culture, especially arts and music, having published a travel & culture magazine called Hayo printed and distributed all across the USA, Canada, and Europe. I also created a Creative Residency in Costa Rica and led retreats focused on the cultural aspects of communities.
In environment, I’m a public speaker, MC, moderator, and interviewer aiming to inform and educate on the climate crisis and the solutions at hand to the common folk.
I enjoy getting involved with projects rethinking the status quo.
